FHD Born of Fireworks Smashwords Cover

Just out of a bad two year relationship, her paraplegic mother dying of heart failure and her criminal attorney father in prison the past six years for taking bribes, Rheagan Baumy has had enough. With the job she loves in LA offering a chance to move back to her home town of Bennett, Colorado, Rheagan plans to visit her long time best friend, Serafina Torres, who still lives there, for a couple of weeks to get the ball rolling on her move. With the pictures and stories that Sera would email, Rheagan planned to have a hot summer fling with one of her mess of smoking hot firefighter friends she was always talking about. From the looks of these hunks in the pictures, any one of them would serve her purpose. But, when Jake Polanski enters the equation, her plans quickly change to more than just a fling. One look from him and she’s like hot molten lava.

Jake Polanski has been a fireman at Station #12 for the past couple of years and had become good friends with each member of the crew. He’d already been friends with Chance Raeburn since college, along with Sera Torres and McKenna Phelps. He’d had his share of beautiful women, but never anything serious enough to be a steady relationship. He never had the desire to have one either. But once he laid eyes on the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, the desire for something more in his life came crashing down on him like a meteor. Having Rheagan Baumy was all he could think about from the moment he saw her walking toward him in that damned bikini at the Fourth of July celebration at the lake. With the whole crew there gawking at her as if they’d never seen a woman before, Jake’s protective and possessive instincts kicked in and he made his move the first chance he had.

Fireworks exploded, both in the night sky and between Jake and Rhea. Their feelings for one another morph into something much bigger than they ever imagined. But, danger lurks nearby and triggers catastrophe. Lives are endangered, including Rhea’s. Trapped by flames deep in the woods by the lake in a cave, she fears death and never seeing Jake again. But, when he comes to her rescue only to be trapped by the raging inferno, as well, a misunderstanding throws a monkey wrench into Jake’s plan to make her his for good. Under Rhea’s misconception that Jake only wanted a good time with her, he flew into an angry rage and unwittingly attacked her.

After realizing his mistake, anguish and shame cover him and when Rhea retreats in fear, all
hope of having her in his life is lost.
Will hope find its way back and allow Rhea to forgive Jake? Can Jake forgive himself for
hurting the only woman he’d ever loved and only wanted to protect? Would he be able to
convince her to stay if he did forgive himself?

MEET THE CHARACTERS

The Firehouse Diaries is a collection of memoirs from various women who keep journals of their lives. The first of these luscious ladies is the incredibly sexy McKenna Phelps, followed by Serafina Torres and Rheagan Baumy. Each of these beauties begin their story with an entry into their diary, introducing you to the scenario of the story.

The men in these four fabulous stories are the steaming hot and sexy firefighters of Station #12 in Bennett, Colorado. Their friendships and brotherly bonds are tight and unbreakable, giving each of them that extra appeal to the women who love them.

The first entry into the Firehouse Diaries is with McKenna Phelps falling for the super-hot Matthew Rain in “Burning Rain”. The second moves on to Sera Torres seducing the magnificent Max Alvares in “Maximum Heat Wave”.

The third and soon to be released entry is in “Born of Fireworks” with Rheagan Baumy being swept off her feet by the ever so sexy Jake Polanski.

“Born of Fireworks” is far from the last entry into these white hot diaries. There will be more to come in 2014.

Now, let’s meet the characters, shall we?

McKenna Phelps PdMcKenna Phelps
McKenna Phelps is a young woman torn between her feelings of love for her best friend since sixth grade, Chance Raeburn and their irreplaceable friendship. She has held her feelings for him deep inside for years, but would never sacrifice their friendship even for love.

After graduating from college, Chance lands a position at Station #12, the hottest fire station in all of Bennett, Colorado. After marking the firehouse as her halfway mark on her early morning runs for a break and an opportunity to see Chance, McKenna soon meets and falls in love with Matthew Rain, a fellow firefighter on the same crew with Chance. Her feelings for Matt grow stronger each day, but her love for Chance never falters. Now, she’s torn between the two men that she loves more than life itself.

Matthew Rain PdMatthew Rain
Matthew Rain has had his eye on McKenna Phelps from the first time she ran into their parking lot at the firehouse and into his dreams. Finally having a shot with her one hot summer morning, things heat up for the pair and the flames grow into a smoldering hot inferno.

Matt has fallen head over heels in love with McKenna and wants to take their relationship to the next level. But, McKenna balks at his suggestion to move in together, leaving him wondering if she’s about to break things off between them.
He suspects Chance has something to do with McKenna’s hesitance, but he doesn’t understand why. His fears of McKenna being in love with Chance are troubling and consuming him. To fight Chance for her heart doesn’t seem to feel right, but he can’t just give her up. Confusion over the potential love triangle has Matt thinking things he’d never dreamed of before and those things are setting off all sorts of alarms. Finding a solution to his dilemma with the two best friends is his new focus. McKenna’s happiness will always come first, but Matt’s afraid it will cost him his heart.

Chance Raeburn PdChance Raeburn
Chance Raeburn has always been self-conscious since he was a kid. He met his best friend, McKenna Phelps, in middle school when he was a chubby four eyed awkward nerd and she was as skinny as a stick with a mouth full of braces. They were joined at the hip almost instantly and their friendship has lasted through thick and thin over a span of fourteen years.

Somewhere in that time, Chance fell in love with McKenna, but couldn’t bring himself to act upon that love. She was always talking about how she would never date a close friend, afraid of losing his friendship, so that was that for him. At least he could love her as a friend, if he couldn’t have her as a lover. He tried to convince himself that it was better than the alternative.

Seeing McKenna with his good friend Matt stirred mixed feelings deep inside. He liked Matt a lot and was glad McKenna was with someone who would treat her decent. But his unbearable desire for her is engulfing his ability to control the smoldering urge bursting from every pore to throw caution to the wind and fight for what he wants. And what he wants has always been McKenna.

Serafina Torres PdSerafina Torres
Sera Torres has been good friends with McKenna Phelps since she moved to Colorado from Mexico during her high school years. Always the beauty queen, Sera has never had to make the first move to have any man. Batting her eyes and smiling her brilliant white smile had always been enough. But with Max Alvares, the only man that has ever made her wet between her thighs simply by smiling at her, she had her work cut out for her. Flirting with him constantly had gained her nothing in return, giving her the fear that he had no interest in her at all.

Desperate to feel his arms around her, she makes plans to seduce him at the end of his shift early one morning. To her surprise, her seduction of Max is quickly reversed after the first kiss and Max, sweet, innocent shy Max, takes matters into his own hands and takes all he can get from Sera, leaving her dizzy and reeling with pleasure and satisfaction only to do it all over again and again.
Once the hot Latin lovers begin their affair, they are inseparable and undying love takes control of Sera’s heart. Making the first move paid off in full. Keeping their hands off of each other is unfathomable and their love for one another has grown into an eternal flame that could never be extinguished.

Max Alvares PdMax Alvares
Max Alvares comes from a poor family in Mexico and is the first to venture to America in hopes of making something of himself and for his family’s name. He struggled and worked hard to put himself through college and found his success by becoming a firefighter in Bennett, Colorado.

There he became part of a family with his fellow firefighters, fitting in for the first time since he became an American citizen five years before. He would die for his new found brothers. The Alvares men were that way, loyalty was everything to them and once you had their friendship, you would always have it. He’d never felt happiness like this in Mexico. He had few friends there and had never known the touch of a woman until he came to America. One thing he wanted that he hadn’t yet accomplished was a woman to call his own, to love and take care of and start a family of his own.

When he saw Sera Torres for the first time, he fell instantly in love with her, but felt he wasn’t worthy of such an incredibly beautiful woman. To his surprise, the lovely senorita had the same feelings for him. Once she gave him the green light, his primal instincts kicked in and he couldn’t claim Sera as his own fast enough. Once their love affair had begun, they were inseparable and their future together was crystal clear.

Rheagan Baumy Meet the CharactersRheagan Baumy
Rheagan Baumy is a twenty five year old woman on a mission. In light of her would be husband, Barry Tate, leaving her for a bikini model and her paraplegic mother passing away recently of heart failure, Rheagan buried herself in her work as a Marketing Consultant at Lowe Marketing and Design taking her to new heights in the company. After all of her hard work over the past six months, she is rewarded with a promotion which will take her to her home town of Bennett, Colorado, where her best friends, Sera Torres and McKenna Phelps reside.

Her mission…to have a hot summer romance with one of the super sexy friends Sera keeps emailing her pictures of from the local fire department. Any one of those muscled up sex machines would do for her purpose…to have a wild time and let loose for once in her life.

Meeting Jake Polanski gives Rhea a change of heart. No other man, Barry included, ever made her feel the way he does. Her heart beats out of control and her insides ignite into a burning desire to be with him and only him. When Jake makes his feelings known, Rhea can’t resist him and gives herself to him completely. But, after a misunderstanding, Jake unwittingly hurts her, physically and emotionally.

Although she’s fallen in love with Jake, her fear of him consumes her and her plans to stay in Bennett have been incinerated. Leaving the only man she’s ever loved behind is her only option.

Jake Polanski Meet the CharactersJake Polanski
Jake Polanski is one of the steaming hot firefighters of Station #12. He has been close friends with Chance Raeburn, McKenna Phelps and Sera Torres since their freshman year in college, a year after Rheagan Baumy moved with her ill-fated mother to LA.

Jake’s never been one to sleep around, but he has had his fair share of beautiful women. But none as beautiful as the breathtaking bombshell Sera invited to the Fourth of July celebration at the lake with all of his friends from the station…Rheagan Baumy.

Feelings Jake had never felt before filled his entire being the moment he laid eyes on Rheagan. His heart was doing cartwheels in his chest, he could barely breath when she came near and his manhood was doing a happy dance in his tight ass bike shorts like nobody’s business. Every fiber of his being wanted this woman he’d just met as if he’d known her his entire life. Not only that, but he felt that she belonged to him, or at least she would, in every way possible.

The magnetism between them thrusts them into each other’s arms and sparks fly in every direction. But when a misunderstanding yanks them apart and Jake inadvertently attacks her, causing her to fear him, he’s left with an emptiness that threatens to consume him.

How can he make things right between them and keep from losing her foreverwhen he can’t forgive himself for hurting her? Finding a way to be with Rhea is the only thing he can think of and when he learns that she’s going back to LA for good, his focus turns from his assault on her and her fear of him to fighting for what he knows in his heart belongs to him. Nothing can stand in the way of him having her, except Rheagan herself. Convincing her to forgive him and stay is the only option he has left.

Check back on Saturday for an exclusive, sexy excerpt and info about a huge giveaway!

INTERVIEW:

So, Chasity, why don’t we start with you telling us a little about Firehouse Diaries and “Born of Fireworks” in particular.

The series is called The Firehouse Diaries and it is a collection of memoirs of various women who can’t help but fall for these smoldering hot firefighting heroes.  The collection is a continuing story of this incredible group of men and the women who love them, so reading them in order is important, but not pertinent.  They can hold their own as standalones.  However, if read out of line, there will be spoilers of sorts.

The Firehouse Diaries was an idea I had while writing theSwingers books.  Brock and I met some of the most amazing people in our adventures and some were firefighters, both men and women.  So, I had fun doing a lot of the “research” with them.  I even visited some of them at their firehouse!  Very interesting, indeed.

Jake-my next breath“Born of Fireworks” was actually born from the first book when a party at the lake for the Fourth of July was mentioned.  I knew then that this book would be in the works very soon, but I had to take a little detour with Sera and Max first to get to Rheagan.  Jake was already in the picture, but Rheagan needed an entrance and I wanted to use Sera as her intro into the sexy scenes of this amazing group of friends.  So, simmer she did, while I wrote Maximum Heat Wave, but she was on my mind throughout that entire piece of work.  Believe it or not, it was purely accident that it is being released on the Fourth of July.  I was asked to be a part of a group promo with four other incredible writers who had new books coming out around that time.  I hadn’t even begun to write Born of Fireworks when I committed to joining them.  In fact, the cover was made way before I was even half way through the book, in order to get it added to the group banner for the Go Indie for Independence Day Giveaway.  Being that I already had the plot in mind, it wasn’t hard to get started.  And, it was so much fun writing about Rheagan, a young woman just coming out of a failed relationship whose mom had died and her father is in prison.  She wasn’t looking for love or anything remotely close to it.  In fact, for the first time in her life, she planned to let loose and have a wild summer fling with any of the hot firemen that she’d seen so many pictures of from her best friend. Jake was even more fun to write about.  I just love to get into a man’s mind and hear what he’s really thinking.  I wish it were possible to know what they’re thinking in the real world.  I also like to imagine what it feels like when their cock does the “happy dance” in their pants when they so desperately want a woman.  It intrigues me and sometimes I wish I had one just to know what they are going through.

Who would you consider the intended audience for your books?

I hope to reach both men and women with my books.  People who don’t cringe at the word cock or pussy.  The reason I write erotica is to “write erotica”.  If people don’t want to hear dirty talk, they should be reading a different genre.  Although, my dirty talk is so much tamer than some writers I know. I am sort of half between the romantic and the slut.  I try to lean more toward the slutty side, but the hopeless romantic in me pulls me back in, sometimes.  It’s my weakness.

Your covers are great! Who designed them?

My incredible husband, Brock, designed this cover and all of my others.  I’ve had professionals off to do my covers, but, I think Brock does an amazing job and wouldn’t trade him for a professional artist for anything!  He has more than enough talent with graphics for me!  He does most of the artwork formy blog and Facebook, etc.  Without him, I’d be either lost or bankrupt!

Who is your favorite character either from this book or from the whole series?

Hmm…my favorite character.  That’s a tough one.  I love all of my characters, but, since you’re making me choose one, I’d have to go with Chance Raeburn.  He’s been a key character from the very beginning and the deeper we go into the story, the more we learn of Chance and his wants and desires.  We really get to know his heart, which belongs to a woman that he can’t have, McKenna Phelps.  They’ve been best friends since middle school and somewhere along the way, he fell in love with her.  What he doesn’t know, is that she’s been in love with him for years.  But, now she belongs to his fellow firefighter and friend, Matthew Rain.  Chance has a good heart and cares so much for McKenna that he’s willing to sacrifice his happiness for hers.  But, not to worry.  Chance’s time is coming.  I can’t say more than that, but it will be an incredible love story with so much hot sex it’ll melt your Kindle, Nook book or iPad.

If you could change something about your book, what would it be?

FHD Born of Fireworks Smashwords CoverThe only thing I would change if I could would be to lean more toward the slutty side of the fence and maybe even have some not so nice people involved.  I like reading a little BDSM, but if I write any of that, it’s light, not hardcore.  I wish my romantic side would take some time off every once in a while, but I can’t seem to get her to take a hike.

What do you do when you aren’t writing?

Read.  Watch movies with Brock and our kiddo.  Read some more.  LOL.  I love to swim, go for a walk on a nice day…I really don’t get out of the house much when I’m working on a project.  Brock will get me out to go clubbing or hang out with some of our sexy friends.  You can actually read about some of the crazy freaky things I do in the Swingers books.  There’s nothing fictional in them.  The only thing not in truth are names.  I always change the names to protect the innocent…and the wicked!

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Yes!  Be yourself.  Write from your heart, not your head.  I never really think about what I’m writing when I’m in the middle of it.  I just wing it.  If I think about it too much, it takes me forever to write a story.  Of course I have a general idea of what I’m writing, I’m not saying I’m in a trance and my fingers do all the work.  It’s the little details that work themselves out.  I find something to visualize, pictures of my characters, and yes, I go find my pictures before I get too deep into the book so I can properly describe them and make them look fabulous in print.

Another thing I would tell you, is don’t be afraid to publish.  It took me awhile before I published anything because, for one, I didn’t know what I was doing, and two, I was terrified for someone else to read my work.  It’s all a learning process.  Find someone to help you.  There are authors out there who will take you under their wing and show you the ropes on how to get started.  Don’t be afraid to ask them questions.

What has your writing experience been like?

Exciting and educational.  I’ve learned a lot about myself since I’ve started writing, which has only been a little more than a year ago.  I love expressing myself through my writing in a way I don’t dare around family and ‘vanilla’ friends.  I’ve met a lot of talented people and made so many good friends, I’m kind of addicted to my writing, now.  I don’t feel productive if I’m not into a story.  Since I’ve finished Born of Fireworks, I’ve already started on my next project, which is my second paranormal story.

Why did you get into writing? Why erotica?

I’ve always wanted to write a book, but, and this is crazy I know, I didn’t like to read.  For years I went without the wonderful world of jumping into a good book and feeling the warmth and tingly feelings you get when things heat up.  A couple of years ago, I became a stay at home wife and mom of a teenage daughter.  Not a whole lot of need for me there.  I was usually the only one home.  So, I found a new love for reading when I found something to keep me interested.  Erotica.  My first few books were by Tawny Taylor, very erotic, then Brock found Laura B. Cooper.  He lent me an ecopy of “Watched” by Laura and I was hooked.  I fell in love with her writing and soon had an extensive collection.  Via facebook, that necessary evil that distracts too many people from life, and writers from writing sometimes, I befriended Laura and we started chatting occasionally.  We became good friends and next thing you know, I was writing my memoirs of how we became swingers.

And now for a little review of Born of Fireworks

Forgiveness 2If you have read the first two installments of The Firehouse Diaries, then you know how steamy they are! Chasity writes a lot of sex and she writes it well. The newest book in the series is no exception. However, this book is longer than the others and the story is more complex. It was nice to see the characters from Books 1 and 2 reappear, but Rhea and Jake are intriguing on their own. They both come from complicated backgrounds and neither is looking to fall in love. Of course, that changes quickly. When Jake does something stupid, though, it could ruin everything. Can Rhea forgive him? Is it worth taking a chance on him – or is he really just a summer fling? More importantly, can Jake forgive himself?

What I liked about this story is that the sex is not the entire plot. Yes, there is a lot of it and it is pretty intense, but we also get to know the thoughts and emotions of the two characters. We learn about their backgrounds as well and there is a definite investment in them both through the end of the story. If you like steamy and you like some romance thrown in (and also, sexy firefighters – just saying!), you will love Born of Fireworks, out July 4!
