I’ve read both stories and loved the softer side of Forget Me Not, but, Lily of the Valley had me in tears and wanting to jump into the book and just hold Jack and show him he was worth so much more than he believed. A truly heart wrenching story that will leave you wanting more of Jack and Lily. Sarah Daltry is an incredible writer and she knows just how to push my buttons!
The Star of Bethlehem will be the next volume in The Flowering Series and I cannot wait until it is finally released!
My Review of Lily of the Valley:
When I read Forget Me Not, I didn’t think the story could be improved. But, Sarah has recreated the same story from Jack’s point of view and the difference is astounding. Although I truly loved Forget Me Not, Lily of the Valley is so much more with the accounts of a young man who is desperately in love with a girl he doesn’t think he deserves. Lily falls deeply in love with Jack and even his horrific past can’t chase her away from him. Talk about 50 shades of fucked up…Jack is right there in the same club. Despite his past of his mother being a drug addict and his father being in prison for her murder, which he witnessed as a child, his desire and growing love for this seemingly perfect “Princess” has him finally looking into a future he thought he’d never have.
Sarah Daltry has incredible talent and I will continue to read her work for years to come. She has such a way to pull you into the story to where you can see the surroundings, see the beauty in her characters inside and out and feel the deep emotions that will tug at your heart.
I highly recommend that you read this book and anything of Sarah’s you can get your hands on. She is undoubtedly one of my favorite authors.
